This Privacy Policy explains how BuiltByGo LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales, handles personal data collected through oiko.co.uk (the “Site”) — the marketing site for the Oiko line of free WordPress plugins.
This policy covers the Site only. Each Oiko plugin itself has its own, separate privacy behaviour — described in that plugin's own readme and, where relevant, wired into WordPress's own personal-data export and erasure tools on the WordPress site where it's installed. This policy doesn't cover that; it covers oiko.co.uk.
1. What we collect
The only personal data this Site collects is the email address you provide if you sign up for release-note emails using the form in the site's footer. There's no account to create, and no other form anywhere on this Site asks for personal data.
2. How we use it
We use your email address for one purpose: to send you a short email when a new Oiko plugin ships, or an existing one has a notable update. We don't send anything else — no newsletters, no marketing beyond that, and we don't sell, rent, or share your email address with anyone except the email provider described below.
3. Who we share it with
We use Resend (resend.com) to store subscriber email addresses and send these emails on our behalf. Resend acts as our data processor for this one purpose. Resend is a US-based company, so sending you these emails may involve your email address being processed in the United States — see Resend's own privacy policy at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy for how they safeguard it.
We don't use any other third party to process personal data collected through this Site.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your email address on the basis of your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), given when you submit the signup form. You can withdraw that consent at any time — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us at privacy@oiko.co.uk and we'll remove you.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we remove you from the mailing list; Resend's own retention practices for unsubscribed contacts are described in their privacy policy.
6. Cookies and tracking
This Site sets no cookies, and runs no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts of any kind. We don't know who visits this Site beyond the standard connection-level logs (such as IP address and timestamp) our hosting infrastructure, Cloudflare, keeps for security and performance purposes — we don't access or use those logs for anything else, and nothing on this Site reads or writes to them for tracking.
7. Your rights
If you're in the UK or the European Economic Area, you have the following rights over your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your email address; unsubscribing does this automatically.
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
- Portability — ask for your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, with no effect on processing already carried out.
8. Complaints
To exercise any of the rights above, email privacy@oiko.co.uk — we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local EU data protection authority.
9. Children's privacy
This Site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change what this Site collects or how it's used, we'll update this page and change the “Last updated” date above. Since the Site currently collects only an email address for one clearly-stated purpose, we don't expect this policy to change often.
